Special wishes

If you have any special wishes with regard to the flight, we advise you to make these known at the time of booking. If you are not able to make these clear whilst booking (online), you should contact the airline.

Diet and special meals
Airlines that serve meals on board can often take diets and special wishes into consideration. The meals can be adapted to meet your needs on account of your religious conviction, specific dietary requirements on medical grounds, or for other reasons. You can make your request when booking at your travel agency, or directly via the airline by phoning well in advance.

Passengers with mobility limitations
Medical items such as walking-frames and crutches, up to 15 kg, are usually transported free of charge. If this weight is exceeded, a fee is charged at the excess baggage rate of 5 euro per kg per single journey. Whilst booking and when checking in, passengers with mobility limitations should indicate whether they are able to walk unaided and manage the stairs. If you are travelling with a wheelchair and/or require accompanying from the check-in desk to the aircraft and from the aircraft to the arrivals hall on reaching your destination, we advise you to inform your airline well in advance. If you have booked your flight via the website transavia.com, you should make your wishes known by telephone via the Transavia Call Center.

Please note: there are a limited number of seats available per flight for passengers who wish to make use of this facility, so you should inform the airline well in advance. You are also kindly requested to check in, in good time in so that arrangements can be made for your wheelchair.
NB. Transavia does not accept wheelchairs or 'scoot-mobiles' with wet batteries.

Seat preferences
It is usually only possible to indicate seat preference in advance for disabled passengers, persons with a medical condition (a medical statement required), persons 1.90 metre or more in height (copy of passport required) or large groups. Provided you have no physical complaints, on some flights it is possible to request a seat by the emergency exit in order to have more (leg) room. You can make your wishes known when booking. Bear in mind that no promises can be made and the seats are reserved based on availability. The number of seats with extra (leg) room is limited. It is therefore possible that if several people have requested such a seat, you will not be able to sit next to your fellow traveller(s). Parents with babies (aged 0 - 1 year) on their laps, children (2 - 11 years), persons with a medical condition and disabled passengers cannot be allocated a seat next to the emergency exit in compliance with safety precautions.

Medicines
If you regularly take medicine, it is useful to ask your doctor for a medical passport by means of which you can prove that the medicine you are carrying is for your own use. This avoids the possibility of your medicine being mistaken for drugs.

Transportation and use of oxygen
The rules concerning the transportation and use of oxygen on board vary depending on the airline. We advise you to contact the airline well in advance of departure.

Pregnancy
Health and safety are the top priorities when it comes to travelling by air during pregnancy. Particularly in the last phase of pregnancy, it is obviously wise to be extra cautious. We advise you to contact your airline regarding the company's specific rules concerning pregnancy and flying. It is also advisable to consult your midwife, doctor or gynaecologist before booking your flight. In many cases, a medical statement from one of these authorities is compulsory, and you may be required to sign an indemnity form in which it is stated that the airline cannot be held responsible for any complications that may occur during the journey.

Travelling with pets and/or children
Taking animals with you by air and travelling with children both call for specific preparation. You are advised to consult the appropriate section.
